It is absolutely awesome, more than i expected.this artist is absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to use his charcoal sketch products. It’s an essentials kit with some of the drawing material he uses.
Tried to order product from them and it sat in limbo for far too long. Kept saying label made but the never went further. I ended up canceling my order. Still waiting on that part to be resolved.
Absolutely loved everything! And there's nothing like a fresh new eraser! And the pastel palette has become a fast favorite! Also def going to repurchase the woodless pencils (LOVE) and the compressed charcoal sticks again soon since I keep reaching for them over and over!
My son LOVES this kit! It has everything he uses and none of the stuff he doesn't. He says it's perfectly put together.

Very expensive for what you get. The packaging is first rate and likely one of the reasons $$$$. The charcoal itself is not particularly special. The pallet however is unique. I’d buy the pallet by itself if I had it to do over.

Powder is very good. Not enough of the sticks included but they're pretty good. Seems like effort went into slick packaging instead of more materials.
I have just begun to work with these materials....I really like the set up...and most importantly the charcoal pencils...just don't know how to sharpened the tip once they are worn.
Love it! Wish it woulda came with a sanding paddle but besides that these are great! MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS KIT IS THE PENCILS!
just like any charcoal pencil, theyll break easily if you drop it on the floor(you can absolutley still use it which is hard to do with other brand pencils) man theyre amazing to use!! Will be buying more.

This kit has everything you need to start drawing with charcoal now. Stylish kit. All of the tools and charcoal felt great to use. Love the big chunks of willow and compressed charcoal. The pastel is always a fun and unique addition to incorporate into my charcoal drawings. Great kit.
I’ve tried many materials over the years, but this art kit genuinely surprised me.
Each material is outstanding, yet what impressed me most is how beautifully they work together when building a full piece.
The pastel has a uniquely smooth blendability while still keeping that essential pastel grip on the paper — it feels incredibly natural and expressive. The charcoal pencils honestly shocked me as well. I’ve used popular brands like General’s for a long time, but the hardness and control of these pencils feel perfectly tuned; I can confidently say this will be my go-to pencil from now on. The charcoal sticks also allow for deep, rich, confident lines without struggle.
More than anything, every material in this kit harmonizes to complete a drawing with consistent texture and character. With this kit, I feel like I no longer have to think about what materials to use — I can simply focus on creating. It has definitely expanded the range of my expression and reminded me how fun and inspiring drawing can be.
It’s clear the Mad Arts team took tremendous care in curating their product line. Quality material for quality artists. All at very reasonable price points. I’m a professional charcoal artist and I have created many pieces using Mad materials. I’m particularly fond of the woodless charcoal pencil - love the weight and feel of it, but you honestly can’t go wrong with any of their materials. This kit has all of the absolute essentials and more. I use these materials to make art every day. They are both functional and stylish. If you are a beginner or a seasoned artist these materials will get the job done. Personally, the woodless charcoal pencil is worth the kit.
